I offer a supportive space for you to express , to talk and explore what is going on for you. Each person's journey is unique and I offer you a non-judgmental place to express and explore difficult feelings such as anger, envy, isolation, stress, uncertainty and fear. Different aspects of your life may be affected such as financial worries, work, family relationships and friendships. Counselling can provide you a safe space to talk, a place to pause and get some understanding of what you are feeling and about what is happening, to help you gain insight and to cope. Whilst I can't take away all the pain talking in a supportive space can help to reduce the trauma and painful emotions and feelings of isolation. Counselling can empower you to overcome your difficulties, to grow and develop and to move forward. All of us at some time in our life will face difficulties and coping can become increasingly hard. We may realise that we want to make changes and need support. It is often difficult talking to friends or family about the things that trouble us most. That's where it can be helpful to talk to a counsellor. A counsellor is trained to listen and understand your life and experiences without judgement. Working together in this safe environment, you will have the space to explore and better understand your thoughts, feelings and behaviours. This will help you to make decisions about the changes that you want in your life or to enable you to accept and come to terms with those things you cannot change. I have in excess of twelve year's experience working within the field of addiction and specifically supporting clients with the underlying causes of their dependence e.g. trauma, abuse. In addition to running my own private counselling practice since 2014, I have also worked as a Counsellor within the prison service and a Cruse Bereavement Counsellor. I am passionate about making a difference to the lives of others - as I believe life is too short to be unhappy, unsure, or unfulfilled. Together we can learn and develop better ways to handle the issues that are standing in the way of your goals and ultimately your happiness.

Discover the path to self-understanding and growth with professional counselling and psychotherapy: Empowering you to heal and thrive through a person-centred approach. Humans are innately wired for connection, making relationships essential for our well-being and happiness. Are you struggling to assert yourself in relationships? If you find yourself feeling unheard and without a voice, therapy can help you reclaim your personal power and find your authentic self. Do you struggle to say no to people? Constantly find yourself prioritising the needs of others. Feel unworthy or undervalued, and experience anxiety in group situations where you would prefer to blend into the background. I understand that reaching out for help can be one of the hardest steps to take, especially when struggling with relationships. It’s common to feel anxious, vulnerable, or unsure about seeking counselling. Therapy can help you transform your relationships with others by: • Talking through relationship problems without fear of judgement – so that you develop the confidence to set boundaries and express your true needs. • Recognising patterns and underlying emotions in your relationships – so that you can develop coping strategies and make more fulfilling choices. • Helping you set boundaries and manage others’ expectations in your relationships – so you have more time and energy to focus on what truly matters to you. Why Choose Me As Your Therapist I understand the pain and challenges that come with relationship difficulties because I've been there myself. Following the breakdown of my marriage, I sought counselling for the first time. My own therapist provided a safe and trusting space where I could work through the complex and difficult trauma I had experienced. This experience was transformational for me. I went from being someone who didn't want to engage with others to training to become a counsellor and eventually setting up my own private practice. I know first-hand how powerful and life-changing therapy can be, and I am committed to providing the same supportive and non-judgemental environment for my clients. With compassion, empathy, and a deep understanding of what it feels like to navigate challenges, I am dedicated to helping you find your own path to healing and empowerment. Together, we can work through your difficulties and help you build a strong sense of self to assist in developing strong, healthier relationships. Over the years, I’ve supported numerous clients experiencing difficulties within their relationships. This therapeutic journey has helped them overcome immediate challenges and grow as individuals. Many of my previous clients have shared how therapy profoundly impacted their lives. Through our sessions, they were able to explore and gain a deeper understanding of themselves by discovering underlying patterns and emotions that influenced their relationship behaviours. This self-awareness allowed them to make meaningful changes, leading to healthier and more fulfilling relationships. Clients reported feeling more confident, setting better boundaries, and communicating more effectively with their family, friends, and work colleagues. The safe and supportive environment of therapy provided them with the tools and insights needed to navigate their relationships with greater ease and satisfaction. So please contact me if you would like to work with me. I look forward to hearing from you.

Learn about your behaviour and coping techniques that work for you. No cheesy quotes or confusing terms - just useful mental health insight. With helpful diagrams and (some) swearing! Hi, I'm Becca I don't use cheesy quotes or confusing terms, and I like to swear sometimes. I'll help you become aware of why you behave the way you do and find coping techniques which actually work for you. You'll learn new things about yourself with easy to understand diagrams and useful mental health insight. We'll find the right answers for you and help you get back to where you want to be. You'll understand yourself better, to apply all this to your everyday life so you don't need me anymore - after all, you probably don't want to be in therapy forever. My focus is on those with anxiety, depression, stress and burnout, and those who are parents/carers of SEND children. But, I’m trained in multiple therapies so I can choose the right elements of each to fit whatever you're facing and what you need in the moment. My approaches focus on: - linking your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviours - the importance of your relationships throughout life - exploring your needs, and your identity and making the changes you want - understanding the mind-body link We will always follow your pace and I’ll never push you before you’re ready. Counselling and therapy are not about giving advice on how to live your life, instead we'll work out the right answers for you. In our first session, I'll give you some info about me, explain what we'll go through in the session and ask you a few questions. This is about me understanding your situation and seeing whether we're a good fit for each other. I may take a few basic notes in this first session about what you say to get an overall view of you - but if you dont want to answer any questions I ask, of course that's no problem. After the session, I'll email you all the practical information you need if you decide you want to go ahead with sessions, or I can advise you of other therapists I highly recommend. Qualifications: - Masters in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy - Postgraduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy - Postgraduate Certificate in Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy - Compassion-Focussed Therapy Training - Rape, Sexual Assault and Domestic Abuse Training I work with adults aged 18 and over, online using the secure and encrypted service Whereby, with additional security measures.

Hi, I'm Heather and I specialise in working with clients who have been recently diagnosed with Autism and/or ADHD. I also specialise in working with clients facing bereavement, anxiety and depression Hello, my name is Heather, and I am psychotherapist working online and local to Cranbrook in Kent, specialising in working with clients who have been newly diagnosed with ADHD, Autism, or both! I can help you overcome issues stemming from this new discovery, and work through looking back at your past with this new lens so that you can move forward understanding yourself better & know how to use specific tools to navigate life with neurodiversity. Have you been recently diagnosed with ADHD? Autism? Or both? Or began the path to diagnosis? It’s likely that if you have then you have a lot of questions about your life, past, present and future that you would like help working through. Are you finding it hard to process this huge change? Maybe feeling surprised or disbelief? Or like things have suddenly clicked into place? Looking back at your childhood and suddenly so many things make more sense but have left you feeling upset, angry or confused? Have you recently become a parent and have struggled with feelings of overwhelm, anger, frustration or upset? Or had a child diagnosed with something similar and realised, hey, that looks a lot like me? Are you wondering what this will mean for you now? Is it going to impact your career or education? Relationships? Unsure about whether this is going to get worse with age? Or what triggers are going to make you feel worse? Do you want to talk to someone who truly gets what it’s like to get diagnosed later on in life? Someone who has been there and can listen to you with zero judgement or surprise at what you may bring? If this sounds like some of the things you have been wondering, I would love to help you through this journey. Together, we can work on the feelings that have come up, create plans of how best to work with the issues that you face from this, and learn how to manage your emotions in a way that is helpful and achievable, and most importantly – actually works. Client testimonials: "Heather is accepting, calming, and patient. As an autistic person with ADHD, my ways of communicating can be chaotic and oftentimes quite overwhelming, but in just a few sessions I have experienced what I feel to be a bit of a personal breakthrough. Working with Heather has contributed to a big change in the way that I feel about some of my important relationships, and breathed new life into my approach to personal therapy. I have accessed therapy for years, and it had begun to feel a little stagnant, or like I was on some kind of plateau, but Heather's approach and willingness to meet me where I am has allowed for me to come at it from a different angle. I look forward to continuing the work with Heather, and seeing where else this therapeutic relationship might lead me. I couldn't recommend her enough. Great experience." "I’ve never had therapy before and speaking with Heather has been a great introduction to it, she’s really let me lead on what I want to talk about but also prompted me to think about things I have never considered. We have only had a few sessions and I already feel like it’s benefitted me immensely. Many of the strategies she’s taught me I already have put into place which was the main reason I wanted to start therapy. It makes me really hopeful for where I will be if I pursue therapy over a longer period. Definitely recommend Heather and want to thank her for her help!" "Heather is brilliant. I have experienced therapy many times, and I have found myself able to be more open, honest, and vulnerable with Heather than ever before with other therapists. I feel seen, respected, and genuinely cared for. Working with Heather has been pivotal to some big changes I have made in my life. I can't recommend her highly enough." About Me My name is Heather and I am person-centred psychotherapist/counsellor based in Cranbrook. I have a master’s in Counselling & Psychotherapy as well as a BSc in Psychology with a Counselling Psychology focus and a qualification in working online. I am a member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP) and the British Psychological Society (BPS). I have been counselling for many years now and started my training in 2015. I have previously volunteered and worked for multiple charities within Worcestershire with both adults & young people/children until recently when I relocated to Kent. I have previously worked as a counsellor within a local secondary school alongside my private practice helping to support people just like you. I have worked with many different clients with varying reasons for coming to counselling. I am continually striving to develop my practice and knowledge and as such regularly attend training days and events to further my knowledge. I can offer several creative ways of working if this is something you would like to do also, this can be discussed over email or within sessions. I am also happy to work together in person or via video/phone calls. Why come to counselling? People seek counselling at many different times in their lives for many different reasons. Counselling can provide you with a safe and confidential space to explore your issues without fear of judgement or consequences within your personal life. Many times, people can feel like they cannot talk to those who are closest to them because of fearing their reactions and the problems this may cause in your relationships. These feelings can be very overwhelming and can take over all of your thinking capacity, meaning that acknowledging you need help and asking for it can be scary. If you believe that you are ready to look for help, counselling may be a wonderful way for you to work through how you’re feeling. There are many types of counselling and some may work for you and some may not, it’s important to have an idea of what to expect before you work with someone. The counselling that I provide is an approach called person centred counselling. By working in this way, I have the belief that the client is the one with all of the knowledge of how best to help themselves, as such I will aid you to work through your issues so that this knowledge becomes clear again. I believe that you have the ability to find your own growth and the desire to change your life in the ways which will work best for you. I do this by providing a facilitative therapeutic relationship which is free from judgement. Counselling is a confidential service, this means that what you share will not be shared outside of the counselling room unless there is a severe risk of serious harm to yourself or others or any crimes are disclosed, this can be discussed further over the phone, email or in person.

I am an experienced counsellor who believes everyone has the potential for change. I qualified in 2005 and completed my training at a local mental health charity where I spent almost three years working with a diverse range of individuals presenting with very different mental health issues. I try to work holistically as what affects the mind also affects the body (and vice versa) and I think that working through our feelings and how we relate to them, (no matter what the issue) is the primary factor. Despite our many different and varied experiences, ultimately we are all human. I work primarily within a person-centred framework but adapt my approach to meet my clients needs as one size does not fit all and am therefore using an integrative model of working. I am a warm and caring person and aim to ensure I work ethically and non-judgmentally with all my clients. I can offer a honest and congruent space within which you can be assured the work is confidential and that it is carried out within professional boundaries. My working hours are; Mon - Thurs 9-4pm (BST) Fri 9- 12pm Mon, Tues, Wed evenings 7.30-9.30pm (2 slots per evening).

All our work will be confidential, and I feel a sense of privilege in listening to your story. Together we can then begin to unlock your potential and make sense of your struggles. Our first few sessions will be focused on getting to know each other, understanding what is going on for you and thinking of what we may look to work on. I will help you to feel at ease and create a trusting bond between us. Then we can start to work through what may be troubling you and identify ways and skills to help you through your struggles.

Empowering Healing Through Therapy, Yoga, and Mindfulness: Supporting Growth from Stress to Resilience I’m passionate about therapy because I’ve experienced its transformative power in my own life. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the banking industry, which gave me unique insights into stress and well-being in high-pressure environments. I’m also a certified yoga teacher, and I believe in the profound connection between the mind and body. I often incorporate yoga techniques into my therapeutic approach, helping clients find balance and mindfulness. In addition to my practice, I’ve volunteered for many years on a crisis line and have extensive experience working in women’s centers and domestic abuse shelters. These experiences have deepened my commitment to supporting individuals in their healing journeys. Outside of therapy, I love spending time in nature and hiking. I find that being outdoors enhances well-being and provides a wonderful backdrop for reflection and growth. I look forward to working together and exploring how we can create a space for resilience and healing

My approach to therapy considers that every thought, emotion, and experience is part of a vibrant canvas for healing and self-discovery. I offer both talking and creative therapy, always focusing on you in the present moment while being informed by your past experiences and future aspirations. Our tailored sessions are designed to empower you, helping you connect with the person inside you. Within a safe and nurturing space, I provide empathetic support to guide you through emotional difficulties and towards a sense of stability during life's most profound experiences. What to Expect: In our work together, you'll find: - A unique counselling experience that honours your individuality. - A blend of traditional talk therapy and creative therapeutic techniques. - A focus on present-moment awareness and holistic understanding. - Empathetic support in navigating life's challenges. - Tools to enhance self-discovery and personal growth Whether you're seeking to overcome specific challenges or embark on a journey of self-exploration, I'm here to walk alongside you, offering support, and a fresh perspective on your path to healing and growth. My experience includes working at a higher education wellbeing centre. Here I worked closely with young adults who were juggling the demands of academic life with the challenges of living independently. It was rewarding to see how creative therapy techniques could help these students find balance and manage their stress. I learned to really tune in to what was going on for each individual, tailoring my approach to their unique situation. I currently have the opportunity to work with a local charity that support carers and people on low incomes. This experience has helped me understand how quickly things can spiral, when multiple issues pile up. How anxiety can become disordered when our stress levels become overwhelming. What struck me most was how differently each person copes with their struggles, whether it was anxiety, trauma, thoughts of suicide, or self-harm. It reinforced for me that there's no one-size-fits-all approach in counselling. Throughout these experiences, I've guided people through some really tough times. Healing can be a painful process, and I've learned to navigate those difficult moments with care and empathy. Helping people build resilience and find their own path forward, even when things seem impossibly hard. What I love most about this work is the chance to make a real difference in people's lives. Whether it's helping a someone find better ways to cope with stress or supporting someone as they work through deep-seated trauma, every day brings new challenges and rewards. I've come to appreciate just how unique each person's journey is, and I'm constantly learning and adapting my approach to best support each individual I work with.
